Applicants are selected who provide evidence of academic accomplishment, work and life experience, strong motivation, and the potential to successfully complete the program. Each candidate is evaluated individually based on overall strengths according to established admission criteria. Financial need is not considered in the admission process. Admission policies are designed to encourage the enrollment of academically qualified persons without regard to race, color, religion, sexual orientation, age, national origin, or status as a handicapped person, disabled veteran or veteran of the Vietnam era.
Applicants must be high school graduates (B average) or have earned a GED (scores of 450 in each test area required). All applicants must have completed algebra, biology and chemistry courses at either the high school or college level with a grade of C- (72%) or better. SAT scores are required of applicants who have graduated from high school within the past five years (scores of 480 verbal and 440 math are preferred). Applicants presently or previously enrolled in a professional nursing program approved by the state and accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting body or LPN/LVNs who have graduated from a state approved practical/vocational nursing program may be granted advanced placement within the curriculum. Applicants follow the regular admission process for acceptance prior to being placed in the curriculum. click here to read more
