LPN to RN Options Program

Admission Requirements for all 3 options listed below:

  • Diploma/GED
  • Current LPN License
  • Algebra course (high school or college, grade C- or better)
  • Application
  • Application Fee
  • Essay
  • 3 Letters of Reference - employer and academic professors preferred

Option 1

This option is for the applicant who has a current LPN License but has not completed any college courses

  • No Validation Testing Required
  • Curriculum:
    • 10 general ed courses
    • 4 nursing courses - both theory and clinical components in all nursing courses
  • Length of Study:
    • 2-years - 3 years*

Option 2 - Advanced Placement

This option is for the applicant who has a current LPN License and has completed the first two required general education courses in the Lawrence Memorial/Regis College curriculum

  • Completion of the following two program approved college courses. (Final grade of C- (1.7) or better is required)
    • Anatomy & Physiology I/Lab
    • Microbiology/Lab
  • Required Validation Testing
    • NU101 Foundations of Nursing Practice course final exam
    • Simulated Clinical Lab
  • Curriculum:
    • 8 general ed courses
    • 3 nursing courses - both theory and clinical components in all nursing courses
  • Length of Study:
    • 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 years*

Option 3 - LPN to RN Fast Track

This option is for the applicant who has a current LPN License and has completed the first four required general education courses in the Lawrence Memorial/Regis College curriculum

  • Completion of the following four program approved college courses. (Final grade of C- (1.7) or better is required)
    • Anatomy & Physiology I/Lab
    • Anatomy & Physiology II/Lab
    • Microbiology/Lab
    • Introducation to Human Development
  • Required Validation Testing
    • NU 101 Foundations of Nursing Practice course final exam
    • NU 102 Adult Nursing Practice course final exam
    • Simulated Clinical Lab
  • Curriculum:
    • 56 general education
    • 2 nursing courses - both theory and clinical components in all nursing courses
  • Length of Study:
    • 1 year - 1 1/2 years *

*Length of study is based on the number of general education courses accepted for exemption, validation testing and space availability in nursing courses.

Sepcial LPN Information Sessions are held on the Medford campus for LPNs interested in learning about enrollment options available to LPNs.
