The Lawrence Memorial/Regis College Nursing Program provides the educational environment for individuals to pursue an Associate of Science degree with a major in nursing. The curriculum offers the courses to prepare a beginning practitioner to assume the responsibilities of a registered nurse in diverse primary, secondary and tertiary care settings. Professional behaviors and competencies are emphasized in the management and provision of safe, compassionate, culturally competent, patient- and family-centered care. These behaviors and competencies include, but are not limited to, clinical decision-making, teamwork and collaboration, communication/information, management, teaching and learning. The graduate utilizes and contributes to established research as part of the interdisciplinary team valuing its influence on current and future nursing practice. Additionally, the graduate is prepared with the knowledge, skills, abilities, values, attitudes and behaviors crucial to an evidence-based approach to nursing practice.
