The purpose of the Lawrence Memorial/Regis College Nursing Program is to prepare the graduate to:
- assume the role of professional nurse at the level of a beginning practitioner by fostering health promotion, restoration and maintenance, leading to adaptation of individuals and families.
- value the totality, uniqueness, rights and freedom of choice of every individual.
- provide comprehensive, compassionate and safe patient and family-centered care guided by evidence-based nursing practice.
- collaborate with the interdisciplinary team using communication, critical thinking skills and evidence-based knowledge in the development and implementation of culturally competent therapeutic nursing interventions.
- demonstrate commitment to the community by active involvement in health promotion, health care delivery and social issues.
- accept responsibility for continued professional growth by pursuing formal and informal avenues of learning.
