MISCELLANEOUS

General education courses are required unless equivalent courses have been taken and exemptions granted.

Students are required to purchase uniforms from McGill's, Inc., before entrance at a cost of approximately $125. Accessory items, including stethoscopes, watch, scissors and nurses' shoes may be purchased through McGill's or another store.

Students order nursing texts either online or directly from a suggested textbook distributor. Books for general education courses are purchased separately at the Regis College Bookstore, Weston campus.

Students are required to be covered by a health insurance plan. Health insurance plans are available for the students who wish to enroll. Dependent coverage may also be available.

Meals may be purchased on both campuses and at most clinical sites. Students are expected to make provisions for their own meals when scheduled for learning experiences away from the school.

Students are responsible for arranging their own transportation.

Bills are payable before the first day of each semester. The discharge of all financial obligations is prerequisite to class entry, promotion and graduation. Students will not be considered registered in the program until tuition is received.

Students will be billed twice per academic year. One billing will be in July for Semester I costs, and one billing will be in December for Semester II costs. Summer sessions are billed separately.

Costs are subject to change without notice.

Graduates will be required to pay for the cost of the licensure examination, approximately $375, and cap and gown, approximately $50.

Tuition Reimbursement Incentive Program

A tuition reimbursement program is sponsored by Hallmark Health for students who work a specified number of hours as nursing assistants or patient care technicians at a Hallmark facility. Students are paid competitive rates for hours worked and may receive reimbursement for nursing tuition in addition! This program offers students a chance to achieve their professional goals, to pursue their career while canceling debt and to be employed in a prestigious health system upon graduation.

After six months of employment, the student receives reimbursement for 50% of the first nursing course tuition and, after six more months, the remaining 50% of the nursing course tuition is returned. This reimbursement continues until all four nursing course tuition amounts have been reimbursed, providing that the student/graduate fulfills the requirements of the Tuition Reimbursement Incentive Program.

Details of the program and its requirements are available through the office of the Bursar and the Director, Student and Alumni Services.

*This program is not to be construed by the applicant as an offer or guarantee of employment, or a statement as to the availability of employment. It is the responsibility of each applicant to consult with their own tax advisor on the effect of this program on his/her individual tax situation. Hallmark Health System retains the right to alter or amend the criteria for participation at its discretion, provided such changes do not adversely affect eligible participants already registered or enrolled in the Tuition Reimbursement Incentive Program at Hallmark Health System.
